Rabepraz-DSR Capsule is a combination medication commonly prescribed for the management of gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), also known as acid reflux. It helps reduce symptoms such as heartburn, stomach discomfort, irritation, and excessive gas by decreasing acid production and improving digestive movement.
This medicine should be taken on an empty stomach, exactly as directed by your doctor. The dosage and treatment duration depend on your medical condition and how well you respond to therapy. Even if you begin to feel better, it is important to complete the full course as prescribed, since stopping the medication prematurely may cause symptoms to reappear or worsen. Be sure to inform your doctor about any other medications you are currently using to avoid possible interactions.
Some commonly reported side effects include abdominal pain, loose stools, dryness of the mouth, headache, bloating, and general tiredness. These effects are usually mild and short-lived. However, if any symptoms continue or become bothersome, consult your doctor promptly. As this medication may cause drowsiness or lightheadedness, you should avoid driving or operating machinery until you know how it affects you.
Alcohol consumption should be avoided, as it may increase drowsiness and stomach irritation. Adopting healthy habits—such as consuming cold milk and limiting spicy foods, caffeine, tea, and chocolate—can further support treatment effectiveness. Prior to starting Rabepraz-DSR Capsule, inform your healthcare provider if you have liver or kidney disease, or if you are pregnant, planning pregnancy, or breastfeeding.
